Cursor doesn’t respond to Wacom Intuos tablet

Issue: The cursor does not respond to pen touch or button clicks. The tablet indicator light switches to green when pen touches tablet or buttons are clicked. You receive an error stating “A supported tablet was not found on the system” when attempting to launch the Wacom tablet software.

Unplug the unit, wait a few seconds, then plug back in.

Or, uninstall your current driver and install version 4.78. According some Wacom forums on related topics, 4.78 is the driver to use for a serial Intuos tablet on Windows XP. You can find a list of older Wacom drivers on the Wacom-Europe site. I haven’t found it on the U.S. site.

ActiveSync 4.1 can’t sync contacts on Verizon VX6700 with contacts in Outlook 2002

August 2nd, 2007 admin Posted in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, Computing, Epson Perfection 4180 Photo, Hardware, Microsoft ActiveSync 4.1, Microsoft Mobile 5.0, Microsoft Outlook 2002, Microsoft Outlook Mobile, Software, Troubleshooting, Verizon VX6700 1 Comment »

Issue: ActiveSync 4.1 (included on the Getting Started CD for the VX6700) shows a red exclamation after synchronizing with your VX6700 and doesn’t synchronize contacts.

Upgrade to ActiveSync 4.5. It’s free and can be downloaded from the ActiveSync 4.5 page on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile site. If you install the software while your phone is connected, you’ll need to turn your phone off and on to sync. It should automatically start syncing when you turn the phone back on.

After installing ActiveSync 4.5, I received a notification that I needed to set Outlook as the default mail client. I didn’t, and It seems to work fine without doing so.

Note: I didn’t actually sync any e-mails, as I didn’t have any in either Outlook Mobile or Outlook 2002.

“Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project.”

Issue: You receive the following error when you open a Premiere 6.5 project file (.ppj) in Premiere Pro 2.0:

“Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project.”

This is most likely caused by an error in the workspace layout. Open the recovered project file and immediately change your workspace to default. Save as a new file.

“Could not complete the Import command because of a problem with the acquisition module interface.”

August 2nd, 2007 admin Posted in Adobe Photoshop CS2, Computing, Epson Perfection 4180 Photo, Hardware, Software, Troubleshooting No Comments »

Issue: You receive the following error when attempting to launch File >> Import…>> EPSON Perfection 4180..

“Could not complete the Import command because of a problem with the acquisition module interface.”

This problem seemed to occur after I attempted to fire the Import.. command from Photoshop when the scanner wasn’t on. Neither rebooting the computer nor rebooting the scanner fixed the problem.

Solved by running the scanner in stand alone mode using Scan and Save. This switched the scanner interface to Full Auto. It then worked and I was able to reset to professional mode. Also added additional drive to scratch disks while trying to resolve this issue.
